Introducing A “Journeys into” for Your Hometown
As previously explained, we had been absent from these parts for an extended period tied to the passing of my Mom on May 5, 2017. The days and months preceding and after that day were not conducive to sharing the offbeat we offer. During these serious and challenging times, it did not seem appropriate to share this content in an inauthentic way – our head and heart was in another place.
But this is not to say that we shout down completely.
During the Summer of 2016, some friends introduced us to an interesting publishing and marketing concept that would allow us to extend and adapt our Journeys Into to a local tool.
The platform came out of Canada and is called Klusster. It was developed primarily to help community small businesses in marketing themselves, but I saw it as an opportunity for these businesses to project themselves (and be a good neighbor) as part of a unified “Journeys Into” that community.
Rather than try to explain further and perhaps confuse, I instead direct you to a number of Journeys Into we have created for local communities. They range from one for my home town to those for communities in Canada and Florida:
Each offers explorations of that community’s “offbeat, off the beaten path, overlooked and forgotten”.
Each provides an opportunity for that community to take stock of its past, present and future through its smart community narratives, and share that narrative with citizens, visitors and those beyond.
There is a lot to Journeys Into-Local.
For now, we introduce you to the idea, and hope you take a look. Then, let’s talk….
